However, it's hard to find houses for sale in there. I have been living here for more than 10 years and enjoying a peaceful life with great neighbours and fellow residents. Recently sold up and moved out because this suburb does not have a bright future. Over the past couple of years I have seen an increase in poorly maintained front yards and nature strips, and Wyndham Council appear to do very little to address this issue.
I was most concerned about the increase in hooning, graffitti, loud music and domestic violence. I have been leaving here for past 8 years and it has been so great. You are so connected to CBD unlike east. It feels like small town so very happy here. Tarneit and Truganina are worst places to live in Melbourne.
Indian thief and black gangs has increased dramatically. Tarneit and Truganina's local parks have become a hub of violence, vandalism and drug use. Specially in Tarneit , MTS' graffiti at every community park. Any good secondary school recommends? What is about the new development, Westbrook?
Is it good to move in? Is there any problem? If there is much public order problem, why the government did not handle it to let this getting worse and how's comes they absorbs oversea investment and if the government is employing the new Cbd at East Werribee which is next to Tarneit? People can look at it with rose colored Glasses and beat there civil libertarian chests to the cows come home but I would not live there or raise my Australian family there.
Check the police statistics and Census Stats while your at it. No integration ,no assimilation and racial tension and let me tell you Melbourne is turning into a shithole because of it. Once a fantastic place to Be Melbourne. Funny, Ive lived in a street where i am the only Aussie, Next to a park here. Not once have i had any issues, many of the people living near me are from 3rd world countries and they are peaceful and respectful and generally happy to be here. You all act like the only crime that happens are 'indian theifs and black gangs'.
Never go near the skinny, pale, twitchy looking street hangers. It is a pathetic place. All guys who want to save money ends up there, and later regret for the decision. Every area arn't safe, violence everywhere. I was told by a lots of agent tarneit is not a good area to live and or buy a house. Ok Stop talking about roads we are talking about the area and the people who live in it. Tarneit is a lot safer than most suburbs in Melbourne i have a young family and so do the most of the families in my neighborhood and i have no problem with safety concerns.
I know which Suburb i would choose live in. Pls can you compare Habibat and Newhaven estates in Tarneit - in terms of security, structures of building, landscaping, the dominant community there. I have a number of muslims living in my street in tarneit, never heard of any problems at all. Seriously do not take our word for it, go and research it yourself. RACV website has burglary and car theft statistics for each area. When you look at actual evidence, Tarneit is a very unsafe area for family to live.
Per year, 1 in 20 to 1 in 30 houses get robbed. How did u know the government is using housing there for drug addicts and refugees? I have a contractor friend who build these commissioned homes. The Government is only doing this for the past year or so.
Quite sad but they have to put these people somewhere. Have few friendly living there who regret their decision to move this bloody ghetto. No neighbour spirit and burglars make merry. My friends cannot even sell because resale is very low in this area..
Stay away and better invest in the established Eastern suburbs. You're so right, the only people who say Tarneit is a good place to live are the ones that a renting on the cheap and drive 8 minutes to work and school. Can't afford a place anywhere else in Melbourne and keep saying Tarneit is safe when it has 3x as much crime rate than most normal established suburbs. My younger family moved here at the beginning of the year, we are Caucasian, and to be honest we don't see many white people around, majority are Indian and Asian but that's great for us, as both races keep to them self.
We havnt had any issues, our neighbours are super friendly, inciting us over for dinner helping us move in etc We are super happy here originally from essendon and actually prefer this area. I don't have a problem with the roads at all, obviously you're going to get traffic in those peak times anywhere.
I was looking into purchasing a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 car garage new house at Tarneit for my Father! Smart move, DONT buy there. You're better off spending more for less out east. There are more attackes in Sydney CBD and Parramatta,, Tarneit is a lot safer than any place Victoria,, Stop spreading rubbish around If you compare bannana and apple not going to work. Campare Apple to Apple East and West to different thing If you visit pub at night you will meet Drukers and violence, if you visit mosque and temple you will meet priest and religious.
You do not want that in the suburbs where you sleep at night with your precious family. My husband and I come from Altona, born there grew up there and were married and had our children there. We moved to Tarneit 14 yrs ago and personally we have never ever had any trouble here. We have all amenities close by, the people are friendly.
The crime rate is much lower compared to the east, I believe there is good and bad everywhere. Our area in Thomas Carr drive Tarneit is very quiet most of the time, our neighbours are friendly and we really don't have anything bad to say about the area. Roads, well all suburbs with road works etc will have traffic issues, point cook is a lovely area but traffic is horrific compared to Tarneit. I would highly recommend living in Tarneit.
I just compared it to my local council and you have 3x as much crime in every statistic that they track. Just because you like living there doesn't make it a safe place to live. Truganina is one of the best options. Around 8 child care centre. Really good houses ,with lot of space. Locality is safe and with Tarneit vline station in For money, saftey and space.
I used to rent in truganina for 5 years, it has the same issue of owners neglecting the cleanliness around the house. Nature strips aren't taken care of, plus tbh truganina in my opinion is not a well established area by developers I think it has failed to create a road safe community, look around you is there even a proper pedestrian path to every where you want to walk?
Sometimes you will have to walk on the road and with kids and hooning that's insane and unsafe! Unfortunatly the area is filling up fast with stupid bogans, I moved here from Altona north to save money, I regret the move so much.
I am not muslim, but I do not recomend Tarneit to anyone at all, I will always advise to stay away from this area. I am only a visitor too my sister lives there and the roads are quite congested and dangerous.
There are not many walking tracks, and you need to drive everywhere. Tarneit isn't an area high on the socioeconomic scale, as a result there is more crime and race related incidents. All in all I think you'll be fine, but if you want a greater sense of community I would rent in Altona North.
Good luck! Yes it is in the older parts, I would live in the city side of Tarneit closer to Morris Rd. It is a new area but the crime rate there is quite high. I would recommend Point Cook as it has much better facilities and much more child friendly. Muslims are welcome is most areas Point Cook is one dead road! I work their and its always congested!
Most of those lovely big houses are owned buy drug lords! Haven't you heard the news?! CRIME is everywhere so don't you just point only to one area! Point Cook has so many problems. It is still within the city of Wyndham, and the traffic is a major issue. I am on PC community fb page and they are always complaining about crime, vandalism, traffic etc. This week Tarneit, next week somewhere else. The media love to make everything a crisis. Mr Sati, who ran as an independent candidate for Tarneit in the state election, fears things could become worse still if nothing changes.
Sydney's biggest growth has been in the suburbs of Riverstone and Marsden Park — about 50 kilometres west of the CBD — which the Australian Bureau of Statistics ABS said grew by more than 23 per cent between and In Brisbane, there are warnings the city needs to build up as well as out to deal with the growing population there.
And while the outer suburbs are booming, ABS data shows the jobs are not moving with the population , with the majority of people still working in city centres across the country. Bronwen Clark, the executive officer of the National Growth Areas Alliance, warned major infrastructure "can take a generation to catch up" with populations.
Construction on a promised train station in West Tarneit, closer to their home, is slated to start in two years and be completed by There's not going to be a train station here. So that has brought down the value of the property," Mr Bahadur said. There are stops marked out for new bus routes across Tarneit, but no-one here knows if, or when, the buses will ever come. The promise of a bus route was why he bought there, but instead he walks 30 minutes each way to the closest bus — the first leg of a two-hour commute to the city.
Demographer James O'Donnell, from the Australian National University, said the way rapid growth had been handled in Australia's major cities was "very uneven". He said while there was often "strong partnerships" between governments and developers, in other areas the infrastructure to support the population took too long to come in. Mr O'Donnell said the demographics of many growing suburbs were shifting quickly too. In Tarneit, 19 per cent of the population is of Indian heritage. At Aurora estate in Epping North, it took 11 years for a bus route to start running.
Back in , homebuyers there were told the train would arrive within 10 years. It has not. The timeline has now pushed out to at least another 15 years, and there is no longer the promise of a train — only "transport links".
Victoria's Department of Transport said it was working to meet the increased demand for public transport "by planning new and extended bus routes, more frequent trains and new rail links which better connect people right across Melbourne's outer west". The Australia Talks National Survey asked 54, Australians about their lives and what keeps them up at night.
