But when I was going through recruitment all I wrote down were things like, 'funny, friendly, cute. Write things down that will help you differentiate things like the color of their clothes, maybe certain features of the house, or certain conversation topics — this will be a huge help if at the end of the night you feel overwhelmed and want to recap the day!

Especially for those of you attending campuses with many sororities! I felt really pressured during my recruitment experience, and sometimes wish I would have ultimately followed my heart instead of listening to others' input. If you can imagine them as your sisters you're in the right place, if not go with your other choice. As a result, I received a bid from every single sorority at rush. Find values you resonate with and discuss how you view them, and live your life according to these values.

You can also talk about why they are important and who has modeled these values in your life. One great way to be memorable is to share a passion. Discussing a true passion makes you come across as interesting and authentic. Ensure you are honest about these interests and activities; a sister will likely dig deeper and ask more questions about them. Would you mesh well with the girls in a specific house? After all, you want to get a bid from a house that likes you for you. As always, refrain from discussing partying in your answer.

Grades are a boring topic. No one loves to talk about grades, but they are very important. Here is the deal. Every sorority has to maintain a certain GPA. This GPA is created by Nationals. If the sorority does not maintain its designated GPA, the members may be put on probation. Probation is no fun. It is kinda like being on house arrest.

Now, we need to talk about grades and sorority recruitment. Since grades are so important to sororities… it is kinda risky for the sorority to take a woman who is not up to standards. I know it sounds really harsh. No individual is defined just by their grades.

It is how the voting process works. If your grades are lower than the required GPA for the sorority, I recommend you get your grades up and then go through sorority recruitment. Another idea is to look up the grade report for your college. This report gives you an idea of what to expect.

It is extremely important to note: If your college has formal recruitment second semester, you need to focus on your GPA. Your grades could be a make or break for your dream sorority. If you are struggling in a class, reach out and get the help you need. There is no shame in getting help! Grades are not always brought up in conversation. It usually is more of the behind-the-scenes thing.

However, if you have a scholarship to your college, talk about it. You do not need to obsess with being the perfect potential new member. Focus on showing off your personality. Take the time to brag about yourself and show the sorority members why you deserve to be in the sorority. Do not forget the most important thing to do is to focus on finding your home and finding your people. I hate to break it to you….
