I could find the PSU information in the link may have missed. But the Computer looks very good. I don't think it would work with gtx You will need to replace the PSU to higher than that and leave room for it. Hmmm - Seller has Apparently this model - HP Elite HT - is a mix and match model with options on all components including option of a W psu, still not really enough for gaming with a , but HP, DELL, etc do tend to use minimum power on their machines, and cases with somewhat limited fan options.
However, the spec list, which has a number of gpu options only goes as high as ti. As the machine is refurbished maybe someone somewhere popped in a but didn't upgrade the psu. Not a likely scenario, but possible. And don't settle for the HP 'hidden recovery partition'. The only truly reliable recovery option is a Win7 disk.
A GTX can use over W of power. This only leaves W for the rest of the system. Socket i7s use more power than later versions. You really need to allow W for the rest of the system.
It will probably run, but may crash if loaded heavily. This is a refurbished machine. Probably, the graphics card died and they just replaced it with another, more powerful one. Dweebe says the Ti was the most powerful card HP fitted to this model and that's about right. But, as Josh says, it's not a bad price for the hardware. Buy it and replace the PSU with a W. Then, sell the W PSU. Next to that we have energy saving functions disabled for this motherboard and processor to ensure consistent benchmark results.
On average we are using roughly 50 to Watts more than a standard PC due to higher CPU clock settings, water-cooling, additional cold cathode lights etc.
Keep that in mind. Our normal system power consumption is higher than your average system. Mind you that the system wattage is measured from the wall socket and is for the entire PC. Below, a chart of measured Wattages per card. Overall this is much higher than reference, this is due to an increased GPU voltage to allow easy overclocking and the standard higher clock frequencies.
Based on the Wattage we can now check how much a card like today will cost you per year and per month. Question What Power Supply to use in this build?
